The torture chair

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Today I applied for a job through KRONOS, a personality assessment program.  KRONOS sounds like it would be the name of the Department of Labor in 1984.  I’ve taken a personality assessment test before and completely failed.  I’m guessing I wouldn’t have lasted long in 1984 but maybe I could have lucked out and have been a prole.

art for museums

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

I recently went to SAM and saw a collection of works about Kurt Cobain.  The experience was quite disturbing.  This was a period of time that I lived through.  Artwork that my classmates and I could have made were included in the collection.  It felt like my tribe was being studied by anthropologists and was now on display.  I suppose that is fair and should make me feel more empathetic for my subject matter.

Soundtrack for Romeo and Juliet

Monday, August 16th, 2010

I just couldn’t get the image of Juliet singing “Like a Prayer” in the Capulet tomb out of my head so I made the whole soundtrack.

post script:

I was talking to my sister about the soundtrack and she said she had no idea what the project was about.  To clarify: I took key plot points in the story of Romeo and Juliet and put them to music.  For example the first to songs introduce Romeo and Juliet.  “Hey Ho, Lets Go” is for the fight scene where Romeo slays Tybalt and so forth.  There is a script pending, my sister says I have way to much time on my hands.

Poet Trading Cards

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

These were really important figures in my youth.  I was impressed by their style and style was so important to me.  I never listened to their lyrics though but I don’t think they would have meant much to me then.
